The shortlisted authors in this year's Bord Gáis Energy Book Awards 2017 include many local authors and those who have featured at recent dlr Libraries' events. Congratulations to dlr Writer in Residence 2016-17 Sarah Webb for her shortlisting (along with illustrator Steve McCarthy) in the Children's Book of the Year Junior category for her title A Sailor Went to Sea, Sea, Sea - Favourite Rhymes from an Irish Childhood. Sarah worked on this delightful book during her residency at dlr LexIcon.

Deirdre Sullivan and illustrator Karen Vaughan are shortlisted in TWO categories for their stunning Tangleweed and Brine - for Best Irish-Published Book of the Year and Teen & Young Adult Book of the Year. Sumptuous illustrations by Karen Vaughan are on display on Level 3 in dlr LexIcon until the end of 2017.

Finally, three of our dlr Library Voices 2017 have been shortlisted - Bernard MacLaverty with Midwinter Break for Novel of the Year, Ruth Fitzmaurice's I Found My Tribe for Newcomer of the Year and Julie Parsons' The Therapy House for Crime Fiction Book of the Year. Congratulations to all!
