What's On in dlr LexIcon and dlr Libraries: April-June

dlr LexIcon and dlr Libraries latest programme of events,  ‘What's On: April-June 2017’ is available now.

Packed full of fabulous exhibitions, events, talks, author visits, classes, workshops music, theatre and much more, we invite you to pull up a chair, take time to read and mark your diaries!

Some highlights include: dlr Arts Office Song of the Sea exhibition and programme of events, Sightsavers: Framing the Future,  iBbY Silent Books and a Picturebook-themed seminar,  Bicentenary of the Pier and the Press Photographer of the Year exhibitions plus fab author events with Julie Parsons, Ann Patchett and Tim Winton.

One City One Book events return in April, Echoland by Joe Joyce is the twelfth book to be chosen.  Based in 1940s Ireland, we have a range of events in dlr Libraries that tie in with the theme, from Spies workshops for children to talks and music events from the 1940s era for adults.

dlr Libraries have a programme for Bealtaine, this years theme is ‘Life is for living’, during May we have gardening talks, journalling workshops, knitting for health and happiness, poetry workshops, mindfulness, creative writing to mention only a few. We know that many of you will be delighted to hear that Tim Thurston returns for another series of 6 sessions in the LexIcon.

Look out for courses in using technology be it email, internet, using your ipads & tablets (plus a Hackathon in May), parenting talks, mindfulness talks, cinema club in Blackrock library as well as our regular events such as book clubs, language exchange and meet ups be it for Irish conversation, Local History , scrabble and more. For children look out for Writer in Residence events,  LexIcon Lab workshops, Spring into Storytimes, art and crafts sessions,  Baby Book Clubs, Summer Reading, book clubs, Family Day on 24 June and so much more.
