We have a jam-packed programme of events lined up in dlr Libraries and Arts over the next few months! You can pick up a copy of our new What's On in your local library from the week of 25 September.

From talks on astronomy, choral music and local history to hands-on workshops on wreath-making, 3D printing and and seasonal crafts. Exhibitions in the libraries and in the Municipal Gallery in dlr LexIcon.

Children's Book festival is celebrated across Ireland during October. dlr Libraries have visits from some great authors who are sure to keep school groups highly entertained and inspired. Keep an eye out for the INIS reading guide which is published annually to coincide with the festival and gives great suggestions for children's reading by age group.

Science Week takes place from the 12th to the 19th November. There will be workshops on astronomy, electricity, architecture, bubbles and many other aspects of science.

We have lots to look forward to on the author front over the next few months. Our dlr Library Voices series continues with Bernard MacLaverty discussing his acclaimed new novel Midwinter Break. A week later Ruth Fitzmaurice discusses her book I Found My Tribe and the season comes to a close with the visit of Pulitzer Prize-winning Jennifer Egan to discuss her new novel Manhattan Beach.

Our Family Day finale for 2017 will take place on Saturday 14 October in dlr LexIcon to help celebrate Children's Book Festival! Sarah McIntyre and Philip Reeve will be here with their Pug-a-Doodle-Do shows, and there will be storytellers, artists, musicians and many more. No booking required, first come, first served for all events. Our new monthly Grúpa Spraoi will be kicking off on Family Day as well. Beidh Sadhbh Devlin ann le ceardlann scéalaíochta agus ceardaíochta dírithe ar pháistí óna 3-7 mbliana d'aois. Bí ann!

You're sure to find something to whet your appetite in our new What's On!
