Progress in the last few months has been steady with the Central Library and Cultural Centre project fully on target to date. The concrete frame of the building is almost complete and the external glazing, stone cladding and brick laying are well underway. In mid October, thirteen roof beams were delivered to site from Banagher, Co Offaly. Due to their large size, they were brought to the site during the night and then lifted into place using two 350T cranes. The mechanical and electrical specialist work is progressing well inside the building. As you will see from the attached photographs taken by Seán Downes, the building is really taking shape and the 360° views are spectacular!
