Join us for the lead-in to Bloomsday for three very different events that will prepare you for June 16th 2018!

On June 13th at 6.45pm dlr LexIcon will show Dublin Only, a 42 minute film by Piotr Sadowski which features a day in the life of Dublin. Piotr is a lecturer in film, literature and drama in Dublin Business School and a Joycean scholar and enthusiast. We are delighted to have the Irish premier of Dublin Only in the Studio Theatre, dlr LexIcon. All welcome, free event and no booking necessary. The event will include an introduction and Q&A plus refreshments.

On June 14th at 7.00pm dlr Libraries staff member Brendan Moriarty will give a talk in Dalkey Library entitled Ulysses on the South Dublin coast. Brendan, a veteran Joycean, will talk us through the events and background of the first three chapters, known as the Telemachiad, which are set in Sandycove, Dalkey and on Sandymount Strand.

On June 15th at 1.00pm at dlr LexIcon, we have a celebration in song and prose of Ulysses, with Sandra Oman as Molly Bloom, performing all of the well-loved songs associated with Joyce’s works. She will be joined by actor Michael Grennell (Game of Thrones, The Tudors etc) presiding as Joyce himself. Simon Morgan makes a guest appearance to perform the famous ‘La Ci Darem La Mano’ from Don Giovanni. Get in the mood for Bloomsday with this wonderful lunchtime event!
