As journalist Paul Faustino hits record, the celebrated athlete recounts the absorbing tale of life as a young boy and adolescent which shaped the development of the extraordinary player he was to become. For him, growing up in a small town at the edge of the jungle, football was a local passion and pastime but it was always expected that he would follow in the footsteps of his father to become a logger. However one day, a journey alone into the jungle leads to a surprise discovery and his life is changed forever.

The author of this work is particularly skilled in his capacity for clarity in expression and is highly adept in establishing moments of close tension. Furthermore, this work also considers the psychology of sport, while also acknowledging it’s unique processes and true skill, which makes this work particularly compelling. Overall, this work provides a fascinating, engaging and refreshingly nuanced insight into the world of sport and as such is well worth consideration.
