Chess Summer Camp with Red King Chess Workshops

Booking is essential, limited spaces available. Participants must attend all three sessions.

While learning the ancient game of chess, participants will have the opportunity to play dozens of games against different opponents over three days. Perfect for complete beginners or people brushing up on their chess knowledge.

Workshop One: Introduction to Chess 
Tuesday 23 July, 10.30am – 12.00pm 
In our first workshop, participants will be introduced to the game of chess and will learn the moves and rules for The Pawn, The Rook, The Knight and The Bishop. 

Workshop Two: Checkmate! 
Wednesday 24 July, 2.30-5.30pm 
In our second workshop, participants will learn the rules for The King and The Queen. We will also look at the rules of Check and Checkmate and play our first full game of chess. 

Workshop Three: Problems 
Thursday 25 July, 10.30am - 12.30pm 
In our final workshop of the series, participants will put their chess knowledge to the test by completing a series of fun chess problems and challenges.
