Ireland Reads is a national day to promote reading and is a public libraries' initiative in partnership with publishers, booksellers and authors.

The Ireland Reads campaign is asking everyone, no matter how young or old, to ‘Squeeze in a Read’ on Ireland Reads Day, Friday 25 February. Visit www.irelandreads.ie where you can pledge to read on the day, get reading tips, and see how much reading time has been pledged by the Irish public so far. The Ireland Reads website also offers book recommendations suited to a person’s interests and the time they have available. There are more than 1,500 recommendations from librarians all around the country.

Schools and early learning and care settings (ELCs) can also get involved with Ireland Reads. Teachers can download a promotional pack at irelandreads.ie and can pledge reading time on behalf of their classes by emailing schools.irelandreads@lgma.ie.
