Dublin’s Monumental Mountains
Once you leave the settled valleys of the lowlands, the Dublin Mountains seem open and wild in comparison to the busy urban landscape at its feet. Yet it is a landscape that has been used by people since they first arrived on this island about 10,000 years ago. Since the forest clearances of the first farmers in the Neolithic, it has undergone many changes, and is still a dynamic place.
Enjoy learning about how our ancestors used the uplands, this landscape of stories, Dublin’s monumental mountains. Part of Dublin Mountains Festival 2024.
