Sketching Workshop with Gwen Wilkinson - Ireland Reads

Dún Laoghaire offers fantastic sketching opportunities, from landmark architecture to open panoramas. This workshop with artist, photographer and writer Gwen Wilkinson will take place both inside the dramatic and light filled space of dlr LexIcon, and directly outdoors in the garden space. Participants will have time to explore elements of composition, perspective and light. In this informal sketching session artists will be encouraged and supported in the act of looking and developing their drawing skills.
What to bring: sketch book, pencils and/or pens.
In the event of bad weather we will stay indoors.

Gwen Wilkinson is a third generation artist and maker with a Masters degree in Fine Art from NCAD. An award winning professional artist, her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in solo and group shows. Her first book The Waters and the Wild, published in 2023, describes her journey in a self-built canoe on Ireland's inland waterways and is author illustrated.
