Dreamer’s Space at dlr LexIcon

Dreamer’s Space is a series of small interactions that inspire ideas and stillness. Created by Corrina Askin, we are all invited in to meet and interact with her imaginary array of lovable characters – the Narwhal, Cupid, Unicorn and Ostrich and so many birds. ‘The Birds were never noisy because they all sang together’. Put on a show with the puppets, make up a word at the Lost and Found depot and smile and say Love Being Me.

Corrina lives at the foot of Cave Hill mountain in Belfast. She loves to go for a wander in nature, looking out for nature spirits. She was inspired by dlr LexIcon, a place full of books bursting with ideas but also a quiet space to focus and think. Join us at dlr LexIcon to ‘Find Your True North’.

Corrina has worked for CBeebies, MTV, Channel 4 and The Irish Film Board and she has won many awards for her illustrations.

This beautiful exhibition was launched by An Cathaoirleach, Cllr. Lettie McCarthy with Corrina Askin and pupils from St. Nicholas Montessori. To quote one of the students from the school ‘this was the best day of my life’. Can’t ask for a better response than that!
