All events are outdoors unless otherwise stated. In the event of bad weather, all activities will move indoors.  

Note for Parents/Guardians: You must be present at all times while your children are attending an event/activity. There will be a photographer on the day. If you do not wish for your child to be photographed, please bring this to the attention of event staff. 

Sensory Room 

We particularly welcome families with neurodivergent young people to join us on the day. We will have a Sensory Room available in Room 1 on Level 3, equipped with Dark Dens and other sensory toys should young visitors need time out to self-regulate during the day.

Fish-Weaving workshops

10.00am, 10.50am, 11.40am, 1.00pm, 2.00pm & 3.00pm  

Location: Outdoors – Pond area  

Max 10 children (plus parent/guardian) per session 

Suitable for all ages, younger children will need an adult to help. 

No pre-booking required, just register with event staff on the day. 

Join Aoife and Pat as you learn how to weave a two-dimensional fish from willow stalks. Bring your fish creation home with you at the end and display it proudly on the wall or suspended from the ceiling.

Sea-Themed Art Workshop with White Doodle Art

Location: Outdoors – Moran Park 

Suitable for ages 5 yrs+ 

No pre-booking required, just register with event staff on the day.  

Have fun and explore in this mixed media workshop. Use print, painted and printed papers, paint sticks, pastels to create a seaside-inspired picture. Let White Doodle workshops prompt you to explore new and exciting media and textures, get stuck into your art.

Always wanted to play the ukulele? Well, now you can learn to play together as a family! Join Rockjam for ukulele workshops and learn more about this fun and fascinating, small but surprisingly strong instrument!

Suitable for all ages. No pre-booking required, just drop in on the day.  

Join the Street Theatre Ireland team for these workshops where you will get to practise a variety of basic circus skills, including juggling, hula hooping and plate spinning! 

We provide all the props and our expert tutors will be on hand to help you along.

Juggling Show

Location: Outdoors – Moran Park 

Suitable for all ages. No booking required. 

Johnny the Juggler is Ireland’s favourite and most entertaining juggling performer. The comedy and juggling skills rival each other in this fast-paced fantastic performance. Musical routines, lots of laughs, audience participation and a fire juggling finale make this the funniest and most entertaining show suitable for all the family.

12.30pm & 2.30pm

Billy Bubbles will be performing his famous 'Magic and Punch & Judy Show'. Amazing magical tricks followed by a traditional Punch and Judy Show. Great fun for all the family!

Join brother and sister team, author/illustrator Chris Haughton and upcycler and designer Lynn Haughton for a fun, action-packed afternoon of stories, crafting and dancing!  

Come along and celebrate Coastival at dlr LexIcon and see our fabulous new sea-themed dlr Scéal Trail Don’t Worry, Little Crab by Chris Haughton. 

Upcycling Workshop for Sea Treasures with designer & creator Lynn Haughton 

3.30pm-4.15pm 

Location: Indoors – Children's Library, Level 4 

Suitable for 3-7 yrs 

Max 25 children per workshop
