Join us in dlr LexIcon on Saturday 30 September from 10am-4pm for our Hooked on Books Readers' Day as we explore the books that gave wings to our imagination and cheered up our childhoods in a day of workshops, storytelling, quizzes and creativity for all the family!

Was Paddington sitting on your bookshelf?

Were you a fan of Artemis Fowl?

Did you secretly want to be the sixth member of The Famous Five?

We will have a series of workshops, discussions, doodles and a chance to explore your creative imagination with the help of our special guests!

On the day, participants (including parent) are invited to dress up as their favourite book character to be in with a chance to win one of many spot prizes!

We’ll also have a Book Swap for children’s books across the day from 10am to 4pm.

Have you finished with a favourite book and would like to pass it on to a new reader?

Bring along up to 5 books on the day to exchange for new ones! We will recycle any books not swapped.
