New Scéal Trail Locations

We are delighted to offer our current Scéal Trails in 4 locations across the County. They are available to enjoy both during and outside of regular library hours, perfect to read on a stroll during the Christmas break.

The 4 Scéal Trails and their locations are:

Geansaí Ottó written by Sadhbh Devlin and illustrated by Róisín Hahessy

Scéal Trail Location: Cabinteely Library Garden

A wonderful story, illustrated by Róisín Hahessy. It follows a little mouse boy called Ottó on a journey he makes through a forest path towards his grandmother, who loves to knit beautiful gifts for him. Otto really dislikes these hand-knitted woolly jumpers and decides he is going to tell his grandmother so as he sets off into the woods.

Geansaí Otto was our first ever dlr Scéal Trail from October 2020-January 2021. Written by Sadhbh Devlin, the dlr Writer in Residence 2019-2020, during her residency and created on the top floor of dlr LexIcon! Geansaí Otto is an Irish language book that was translated by the author for the Scéal Trail to make it bilingual and accessible.

Spidey written by Carmel Uí Cheallaigh and Illustrated by Fintan Taite

Scéal Trail Location: Shankill Library Garden

A delightful Irish language picture book by dlr Senior Librarian Carmel Uí Cheallaigh and illustrated by Fintan Taite.
Translated by the author for the Scéal Trail to make it bilingual and accessible.

Tá suim an-mhór ag Séimí beag sna damháin alla. Bíonn siad le feiceáil i ngach áit, dar leis! Ba bhreá leis féin bheith ina Spidey lá éigin!

Little Séimí just loves spiders! No matter where he goes, he can think of nothing else. If only he could be a spider himself!
