Ronan Fanning, author and Professor Emeritus of Modern History at University College Dublin, discusses his latest book - Fatal path - British Government and Irish Revolution 1910 - 1922. It is a magisterial narrative of the most turbulent decade in Anglo-Irish history; a troubled period when violence and the threat of violence trumped democratic politics.
