Overview
American Gods follows Shadow Moon. Released from prison he discovers that his wife and best friend have been killed in a car crash and that they were having an affair together. Lost he ends up taking a job from the mysterious Mr Wednesday to be his driver and assistant cum bodyguard. His journey with Wednesday will take him across the states and introduce him to the Gods that populate America both new and old.
A unique combination of road story, horror and dark fantasy this book is highly recommended. It is also genuinely thought provoking in its pondering on the nature of gods, worship and America in the modern age
