Bloomsday Screening – Old Ghosts in dlr Lexicon
Event Description

As part of Bloomsday Festival 2026, dlr Libraries is presenting a free screening of Old Ghosts, a short filmed opera created in response to the Penelope episode of Ulysses, in partnership with Irish National Opera. The filmed opera offers a playful and evocative exploration of the imagined origins of Molly Bloom and the final chapter of Ulysses, with music by Evangelia Rigaki and text by Marina Carr. Directed by Louise Lowe and conducted by Elaine Kelly, Old Ghosts was originally commissioned as part of Ulysses 2.2, a collaboration between ANU, Landmark Productions, and the Museum of Literature Ireland.
