The Dún Laoghaire Baths 1843 - 2023

Exhibitions
Dun Laoghaire Baths

Marking the reopening of the Dún Laoghaire Baths and celebrating the 180th anniversary of their original opening, this exhibition is a pictorial celebration of life, work and play in the Baths. From their origins as a private enterprise, through the Edwardian redevelopment by the Urban District Council and covering heydays and dereliction through to the present day. It charts the highs and lows of this much-loved local institution – swimming lessons, sunbathing paradise, childhood freedom, protests, ice creams and fun park. Told through the images and the voices of those who lived, worked and played in the Dún Laoghaire Baths over many years, the exhibition brings the past to life, while looking to the next chapter in the life of this iconic Dún Laoghaire attraction.
