History Ireland: 30 years of Ireland's history magazine

History Ireland was founded in 1993 with the intention of taking the study of Irish history ‘out of the ivory tower’ and making the latest research and insights available to the widest possible audience. Its inception came at a time when Ireland and the study of history were experiencing significant changes. This exhibition attempts to give a flavour of the magazine’s approach by showing the full range of covers from 1993 to 2023, while demonstrating what a rich illustrative archive of historical material is available in both art and photography in its content.
