How to be Energy Smart at Home in Dún Laoghaire County Hall
Event Description

How to be Energy Smart at Home is a free clinic to help you to learn how to be energy smart and to 'Ask the Experts' your questions. Join our colleagues in County Hall, as they bring together energy experts to share a wide range of information from no-cost saving energy tips, understanding energy bills and smart meters, to examples of home energy retrofits to reach a high Building Energy Rating (BER). You will also hear about accessing grants for home energy upgrades, solar panels and how to lower your energy bill. The short presentations will be followed by an opportunity to ask your one-to-one questions with the Energy Experts.

And don’t forget you can borrow a Home Energy Saving Kit (HESK) from dlr branch libraries to take home with you. These handy kits can help householders better understand their energy use and reduce their bills. The tools in the kit address key areas of energy use in the home - space heating, hot water and electricity consumption - and can identify common issues such as lack of insulation, poor ventilation and the appliances that might be driving up energy bills. There may be a short waiting time for kits; talk to library staff to find out more.
