Norma: Myth, Story and Song

Irish National Opera (INO), in collaboration with dlr Libraries and Candlelit Tales, presents a special event exploring the mythic world behind Bellini’s greatest opera, Norma. Led by storyteller, writer and Irish mythology expert Sorcha Hegarty, this talk weaves together ancient myth, Irish storytelling, and the cultural world of druids and Roman-occupied lands. With an introduction from INO, the session connects these stories and histories to the world of Norma and concludes with a live musical excerpt from the opera. An event for music lovers, mythology fans, and curious audiences alike!
