Remembered: A Bray Man in the Great War

Normal or One Off
Remembered: A Bray Man in the Great War exhibition in Ballyogan Library
Event Description

Many thousands of Irish men fought in World War 1, of whom at least 35,000 didn’t return. One such man was 29-year-old John Cleary from Bray. He was lost, but never forgotten. In recent years resources have become available that can help shed some light on what these men experienced during their time in the war. This exhibition draws on these resources to tell the story of John and so many others like him who never made it back home.

  • This exhibition takes place throughout the month of March
  • It can be seen in Ballyogan Library
