Storytime for Poets: Poetry Workshop with Rosamund Taylor

In this workshop we’ll look at narrative poetry, and how to explore stories both real and imagined, through playful exercises that encourage thinking outside the box. We’ll draw on the work of poets such as Moniza Alvi, Martina Evans, and Philip Levine, to look at how to tell a good story, how imagery can disrupt the narrative in productive ways, and what it means to shift perspective. We’ll use collage, scissors, and found materials, to rediscover the playfulness of poetry, and find unexpected connections that lead to inventive new poems. This workshop is open to all levels.
