Seachtain na Gaeilge 2023
Celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge and St Patricks day in dlr Libraries!
Seachtain na Gaeilge takes place across the country from 1-17 March, and is one of the biggest celebrations of the Irish Language, with events taking place across Ireland and in other countries. dlr Libraries will be hosting a range of events throughout the first 2 weeks in March, and we will be also launching our new Stair Scéal Trail.

Scéal Trail
We are delighted to launch our very first dlr Stair Scéal Trail during Seachtain na Gaeilge 2023 outside dlr LexIcon, near the Maritime museum.
This is the first dlr Stair Scéal Trail, which is an outdoor local history story walk. An initiative of dlr libraries to encourage reading in all settings. Supported by the Creative Ireland Programme. You are invited to follow the story, page by page, from beginning to end. This Scéal Trail features the book The Forgotten Tragedy written by Carmel Uí Cheallaigh and illustrated by Jimmy Burns. The sinking of the RMS Leinster is regarded as Ireland's greatest maritime disaster. Over one hundred years on, it's high time for reflection and commemoration. How and why did this terrible tragedy happen?
Enjoy this outdoor Scéal Trail in both English and Irish!
Fáilte go dlr Stair Scéal Trail. Is é seo an chéad dlr Stair Scéal Trail, ar siúlóid staire áitiúil amuigh faoin aer é. Tionscnamh ó leabharlanna dlr is ea é an tionscnamh seo. Tacaíonn Clár Éire Ildánach leis an tionscnamh seo. Tugtar cuireadh duit an scéal a leanúint, leathanach ar leathanach, ó thús go deireadh. Tá an leabhar Tragóid atá Ligthe I nDearmad, atá scríofa ag Carmel Uí Cheallaigh agus maisithe ag Jimmy Burns mar chuid den Scéal Trail seo.
