Summer Stars 2026

Get ready for another magical summer of stories, imagination, and fun—Summer Stars is returning to all our library branches! This free national reading programme is open to all children, and it’s the perfect way to keep young minds active and entertained during the summer holidays. 

What is Summer Stars? 

Open to all children, this free national reading programme is the perfect way to encourage reading throughout the summer and help to avoid that summer slide. 

How does it work? 

Children can pop into their local dlr library to sign up and collect a Summer Stars Reading Booklet where they can keep track of books they read during the holidays. 

Prize-draw! 

All participants are eligible for our prize-draw once they return their booklet to their local library before September.
