Enjoy an immersive experience that guides you through the poet's life and work, revealing the internal and external forces that shaped his work. This banner version of the exhibition currently on display in Bank of Ireland Cultural and Heritage Centre, Dublin 2, draws on the extensive archive that Seamus Heaney and his family donated to the National Library of Ireland in 2011.

 

Curated by Professor Geraldine Higgins, Director of Irish Studies at Emory University, this exhibition was created in partnership between the NLI, the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts

The Irish Guild of Embroiderers presents its 2024 exhibition of members' work on the theme of “TRANSFORMATIONS”

 

The Guild was founded in 2000 to bring together like-minded people with an interest in textiles, particularly embroidery, and to share inspirations, ideas and techniques.

 

Our membership encompasses a wide variety of textile skills, and levels of abilities from complete novices to more experienced embroiderers. Some teach and exhibit nationally and internationally; some sell their work or take commissions; others are total beginners or prefer to enjoy

The Paris Secret

This staff pick encompasses a review of six loosely, interconnected books, which I read concurrently as they shared a common thread of telling the untold stories of women during World War II in France. The books are a combination of fiction and non-fiction, they can be read as standalones or read alongside one another as companion books. 

My first read is a book of historical fiction, The Paris Secret by Australian author, Natasha Lester. In this novel, the main female characters are based on the lives of real people, who had active roles in the French Resistance Movement and the British Royal
