Living Well with Dementia is delighted to exhibit its Art Piece 'Colours Chasing Me' in Deansgrange Library during September in recognition of World Alzheimer's Month.
LWwD aims to raise awareness about dementia, reduce stigma, promote early diagnosis, and provide support for people living with dementia in HSE Community Healthcare East, including weekly activity groups that are open to all but are particularly welcome to people with dementia, their families and carers. Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council aare embarking on an exciting journey to shape the future of our iconic Harbour, and we need you on board! A pop-up will take place in September and October in dlr LexIcon as part of the consultation, with an opportunity for adults to share feedback, and for children to submit a 'Dún Laoghaire Harbour - Wish You Were Here!' postcard for consideration.
The Dún Laoghaire Harbour Masterplan will be our directional chart for decades to come guiding how we want to use, develop and enjoy the Harbour, and its environs. Have your say!
Summer Stars Art Competition Exhibition
Join us in Dundrum Library for our Summer Stars Art competition exhibition. Wonderful artwork created by children during the Summer will be on display for one week.
Woodspace: Exhibition of Wood Designers of the Present and the Future
Rotary Ireland and dlr LexIcon present Woodspace, an exhibition that features posters, video, design models and information on sustainable use of wood from forest to end product, including case studies of award-winning architects and designers alongside third level students.
Collaboration is the theme of many of the projects featured in Woodspace including Venice Vessel and The Seamus Heaney Walk Seating Project. Both depended on support from communities, sawmillers, designers and makers.
Woodspace is an acknowledgment of the importance of forestry in climate change as outlined in Ireland's

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Libraries present an exhibition of digitised glass plate slides from the dlr Local Studies' Charles Hamilton Oswald Collection. Oswald, from Dún Laoghaire, had a special interest in yachting, and either acquired or inherited the collection which mainly depicts life in and around Dún Laoghaire Harbour. A digitised version of this unique collection will be available to view for the first time, reflecting an important period in the town's history.

Plan International Ireland, the development and humanitarian organisation advancing children's rights and equality for girls, is marking International Day of the Girl (11 October) with a powerful photographic exhibition. Girls in Crisis aims to raise awareness about the specific challenges faced by girls and young women dealing with conflict and displacement in Ukraine, Gaza and Sudan through compelling visual stories. Girls are disproportionately impacted by conflict, with displacement often forcing them to drop out of school and putting them at greater risk of

Enjoy an immersive experience that guides you through the poet's life and work, revealing the internal and external forces that shaped his work. This banner version of the exhibition currently on display in Bank of Ireland Cultural and Heritage Centre, Dublin 2, draws on the extensive archive that Seamus Heaney and his family donated to the National Library of Ireland in 2011.
Curated by Professor Geraldine Higgins, Director of Irish Studies at Emory University, this exhibition was created in partnership between the NLI, the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts

The Irish Guild of Embroiderers presents its 2024 exhibition of members' work on the theme of “TRANSFORMATIONS”
The Guild was founded in 2000 to bring together like-minded people with an interest in textiles, particularly embroidery, and to share inspirations, ideas and techniques.
Our membership encompasses a wide variety of textile skills, and levels of abilities from complete novices to more experienced embroiderers. Some teach and exhibit nationally and internationally; some sell their work or take commissions; others are total beginners or prefer to enjoy
