dlr LexIcon Family Film Club: Kensuke's Kingdom

Join dlr LexIcon Family Film Club for one of our monthly screenings. Young Michael and his dog wash up on a remote island when a violent storm sweeps them overboard during a sailing trip. Believing he's all alone, Michael is surprised to discover a mysterious Japanese man who's lived on the island since World War II. Initially suspicious of each other, the boy and the old man must soon join forces when dangerous invaders threaten their fragile paradise. An adaptation of the Michael Morpurgo bestselling children's novel, featuring the voices of Sally Hawkins, Cillian Murphy and Ken Watanabe.


Mindfulness Storytelling for Children with Sarah Tully

A gentle introduction to Mindfulness for children with Sarah Tully as part of the Healthy Ireland at Your Library programme. Children will learn mindfulness techniques to relax, promote positivity and imagination. The session concludes with stories and exercises to encourage children to relax.

Summer Stars Flipbook Animation Workshop

Interested in drawing and animation? As part of Summer Stars, join Joseph Orr and Sinéad Doyle from the award-winning Speak Broccoli to learn how to use the basic principles of hand-drawn animation to make your own creations come to life! This workshop is a mixture of live demonstrations, easy to follow drawing guides and practical hands-on creativity. All materials are provided and you get to take your flipbook home with you.

Summer Stars Clever Little Handies Rhyme & Sign Storytime

Clever Little Handies present a Rhyme and Sign Storytime for parents and their babies and toddlers for Summer Stars. Join us as we bring characters to life through the magic of storytelling, creativity and sign language. Participants can sign along as we go, no previous experience necessary as a brief introduction to baby sign will be given with instructions on how to do the ISL signs that we will use. It’s not just about reading words; it’s about creating a multisensory experience that ignites curiosity and joy.

Summer Stars Molly & Bram’s Dickensian Dublin with Alan Nolan

How well do you think you know Dublin in Victorian times?
