Online Yoga for children with additional needs and their parents
dlr libraries in conjunction with yoga teacher Tanja Thomas have online sessions coming up:
- Yoga for children with autism on Jan 30th and Feb 20th, both at 11am-12pm
- Yoga and relaxation for parents of children with special needs on Sat 6 Feb, 11am-12pm
Tanja Thomas is a yoga alliance qualified yoga instructor specialising in children's & family yoga as well as therapeutic yoga for children with additional needs, Tanja has trained in Integral Sound Healing, Three in One Concepts - Kinesiology as well as Reiki, Sound Massage and Sound Yoga.
Tanja has a special interest in mindfulness & meditation

Dalkey online folkore exhibition
Take a moment to wander through the folklore of Dalkey, passed on from its inhabitants over ninety years ago. Recorded in the Schools’ Folklore Collection, part of the National Folklore Collection, UCD, the exhibition shares the well-worn stories and social histories passed down through the community. Although only a few Dalkey schools are represented here, the Schools Collection contains "in excess of 750,000 pages of local history and oral tradition" collected from thousands of schoolchildren from across the Republic of Ireland in the late 1930s. Keeping the tradition of the St. Brigid's Cross alive through 2021 - Join Wicklow Willow's, Aoife and Pat as they discuss the legends associated with St. Brigid, source reeds and make a traditional Irish St. Brigid's Day Cross. Aoife will provide a how-to video tutorial in making your very own St. Brigid's Cross! Great Fun for all the family - discovering, learning, drawing, colouring and weaving as you find out all about this ancient Irish custom!

Congratulations to the winners in our recent Design a dlr Postcard Competition, the finale of our What’s in a Name Decade of Centenaries initiative. Our thanks to ALL who took part, we really enjoyed your entries. We have printed postcards of the winning entries, available in all dlr branch libraries when we reopen again.
dlr Library Development Plan 2021-2025 Public Survey
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown (dlr) County Council is exploring possible priorities for our new Library Development Plan and is interested in your ideas to help us plan our library services for the next five years.
Cathaoirleach, Cllr. Una Power welcomes the initiative inviting “everyone to have their say on our libraries by completing this survey. In this way we can make sure that our library services will continue to meet the needs of our community and continue to be a space for all”.
The online questionnaire will be open until Sunday 28th March 2021.

Each year, April is designated Autism awareness month, with World Autism Awareness Day on Friday 2 April .
