dlr Writer in Residence 2019-2020, Sadhbh Devlin

Sadhbh Devlin is the dlr Writer in Residence for 2019-2020. Her residency will focus on the theme of inclusivity and will have a particular emphasis on creativity for 6-12 year olds. Sadhbh is the author of two picturebooks in Irish, Bí ag Spraoi Liom! (illustrated by Tarsila Krüse) and Beag Bídeach (illustrated by Róisín Hahessy). Beag Bídeach was recently shortlisted for the Children’s Books Ireland Book of the Year Award.

During her time as Writer in Residence, Sadhbh plans to work on a non-fiction book for 6-12 year-olds, a new Irish language picturebook and a collection of Flash Fiction. She will also run creative writing and craft workshops for children, monthly events and a ‘Club Leabhar’ for children who would like to read more in Irish.
