Studio Saturdays - dlr Libraries’ Monthly Workshops for Neurodiverse Children

Studio Saturday Logo

dlr Libraries’ monthly Studio Saturdays are tailored for neurodiverse children and their families. One adult guardian is required to attend with a child/children and can feel free to join in the fun.

dlr Libraries will also have an area set up with a selection of sensory toys and equipment. Should children need time to self-regulate, there will be space and time to do so.

For more information, or to go on our mailing list for neurodivergent events email: libraryculture@dlrcoco.ie

Upcoming Studio Saturdays
September 2024

Sat 7 September

This September we welcome back Karen Andersen of SENSEable Kids for sensory play and process art https://www.senseablekidsevents.com/

There will be two sessions, one catering for younger children and  one for older children.

This is a no booking event, and if the session is full we will ask attendees to wait until space becomes available (A Quiet Room will be available on the day)

Sensory Play Session (4-10 year olds) 11.00am - 2.00pm
The child will get to explore a multitude of sensory materials following their natural curiosity and their thirst for knowledge. The session is designed to provide a fun, supportive environment where the parent can follow the child’s lead in what order they want to do the activities in. All of the materials are taste-safe and nut-free.

Process Art (11-14 year olds) 2.00 - 4.00pm
Here the child gets to be creative and the emphasis is on enjoying the process rather than solely focusing on the end product. The theme will be environmental awareness and we will use recycled materials as one of the art mediums.
