Carmel Uí Cheallaigh: RMS Leinster The Forgotten Tragedy

The sinking of the RMS Leinster is regarded as Ireland's greatest maritime disaster. On 10 October 1918, the ship was torpedoed with 569 people losing their lives, many from Dún Laoghaire - Rathdown. Join author Carmel Uí Cheallaigh to hear the fascinating story of the ship and its passengers.

Carmel is a retired librarian and the author of ten children’s books in Irish and English. She loves reading, researching and writing picture books and history books for children.
