Studio Saturday - Sensory Play and Process Art
Neurodivergent Studio Saturdays are workshops tailored to neurodivergent children. This September we welcome back Karen Andersen of SENSEable Kids for sensory play and process art.
There will be two sessions, one catering for younger children and one for older children.
This is a no booking event, and if the session is full we will ask attendees to wait until space becomes available (As always, a quiet room will be available for anyone who may need it)
Sensory Play Session (4-10 year olds) 11.00am - 2.00pm
The child will get to explore a multitude of sensory materials following their natural curiosity and their thirst for knowledge. The session is designed to provide a fun, supportive environment where the parent can follow the child’s lead in what order they want to do the activities in. All of the materials are taste-safe and nut-free.
Process Art (11-14 year olds) 2.00 - 4.00pm
Here the child gets to be creative and the emphasis is on enjoying the process rather than solely focusing on the end product. The theme will be environmental awareness and we will use recycled materials as one of the art mediums.
