Sebastian Barry in conversation with Myles Dungan

Award-winning author Sebastian Barry was in lively conversation with journalist Myles Dungan on Friday 4th April in the Pavilion Theatre Dún Laoghaire, the final event in the spring series of dlr Library Voices. His eagerly anticipated new novel The Temporary Gentleman, the sixth book in his cycle of separate yet interconnected novels, tells the story of Jack McNulty – an Irishman in the British Army whose commission was never made permanent. He is writing the story of his eventful life, but the memory that weighs heaviest is that of beautiful Mai Kirwan and their tempestuous heartbreaking marriage.
