Foxrock Local History Club Talk: Sir Henry Robinson, 1st Baronet of Lis Na Carrig, Foxrock – with Myles Reid
In 1899 Sir Henry Robinson was head of the Local Government Board. This Board funded the running of local county and urban councils. For twenty-four years he was influential in showing newly-elected nationalists how to run and fund their local councils. In 1922 his role ended when the Free State started. Sir Henry lived in Lis na Carrig on Brighton Road in Foxrock. His house was attacked during the Civil War and he left the country. He died in 1927 having never returned to Lis na Carrig. Join Myles Reid as he explores the life of this influential local.
