dlr LexIcon welcomes award-winning dementia care technology

The Tovertafel (‘Magic Table’ in Dutch) was officially launched today in the dlr LexIcon Library by An Cathaoirleach Councillor Ossian Smyth and is the first of its kind to be installed in Ireland, with a second one planned for Deansgrange Library.

Commenting on the installation, County Librarian Mairead Owens said:

Local Studies Collections and Local History Societies Day at dlr LexIcon

dlr Libraries are delighted to announce this seminar event, the first of what will be an ongoing series of collaborations between archivists and local historians throughout the country. Summer Stars prize-giving

Summer Stars 2018 drew to a close in dlr Libraries with celebratory events in our branches during September. As well as all of the rewards along the way, each branch chose three winners at random from all those who read at least eight books over the summer months. A total of 24 branch winners were then invited to attend a special prize-giving ceremony in dlr LexIcon on Saturday, 6 October, where they all received prizes from An Cathaoirleach Cllr Ossian Smyth. LEGO competition prize-winners

dlr Libraries would like to say a big Thank you to everyone who submitted entries to our 2018 LEGO competition. The theme for this year's competition was ‘Design your ideal play space using LEGO’. We were really impressed with the quality of the entries. After careful consideration our judge, Elaine Bowden of Bricks 4 Kidz declared the following category winners:

Library closure notice, 5 Nov 2018

All Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown libraries will be closed on the morning of Monday 5 November 2018 to facilitate staff training. All libraries will re-open at 2pm on Monday afternoon.
