Lego Competition 2022

Children and young people are invited to participate in dlr Libraries Lego Competition 2022, a perfect project to work on this Summer and be in with a chance to win some prizes!

We have four age categories as well as the 'Crowd Favourite' choice. Team builds are also accepted, so feel free to buddy up with a sibling, family member or friend to build and to enter!

Each year we are bowled over by the Lego builds we receive in dlr LexIcon, with close to 90 builds submitted each year in 2017, 2018 and 2019, each showing creativity and ingenious building skills and filling our library with a splash

50 Great Reads, for ages 0-5

dlr Libraries presents an updated 50 Great Reads for Children Aged 0-5. We believe that reading together is a rewarding and important activity. It provides an opportunity for parents and guardians to spend valuable one-on-one time with their little one and encourages a child to use their imagination from a young age. Reading at an early age helps a child to express themselves in new ways and is proven to help with cognitive development. At dlr Libraries, we want to help children to discover the magical world of books and along with this booklet, offer a range of library services for the young

New Accessible Services in dlr LexIcon: July 2022

Libraries are no longer just places to borrow books or study, they are also creative and engaging community spaces where people can gather, relax, read or explore resources, join a workshop and enjoy socialising with their local community, maybe even make friends along the way. Libraries run bookclubs, writing groups, craft circles and many other workshops and classes throughout the year.

The local public library has also become a technology hub in the community as people use the free internet/wifi, use PCs and printing services and access a range of services online such as training courses

Lego Competition Winners 2022

Lego Competition and Winners 2022

On Saturday 24 September we awarded our Lego prizewinners 2022 their prizes, with the help of Leas-Chathaoirleach Cllr Michael Clark and Raj Kiran from Bricks4Kidz, South County Dublin.

A huge congratulations to our winners, but also to all 70+ children that entered the competition and livened up dlr LexIcon when the colourful explosion of Lego arrived on Wednesday 21 September. We were delighted to have the entries on display for Culture Night 2022, where they were admired by those visiting dlr LexIcon.
