Ireland Reads is a campaign to get the whole country reading this month in the lead up to a national day of reading on Saturday 24 February. Irish libraries have teamed up with publishers, booksellers, authors and others for the campaign which aims to celebrate reading and all the benefits it can have for well-being and enjoyment.
This year we are asking everyone to Get Lost - in a good book as well as in your local library. Make a date to visit your nearest dlr Library on Ireland Reads Day! As well as events for all ages, Library staff will be on hand to showcase and highlight the wide

Celebrate Irish language and culture this Seachtain na Gaeilge with dlr Libraries. We have some fabulous events lined up to help get Gaeilge in your ears and on your tongue, with the best of Irish language comedy, music and poetry today. Events will be bilingual and accessible to those who want to bring more Irish into their lives but don’t know where to start!
Authors for Schools Programme 2024 - dlr Libraries
dlr Libraries are delighted to welcome the best of Irish authors of children's books to our libraries over the coming months as part of a new programme for primary schools.
Essential Maintenance: Deansgrange Library
Due to essential maintenance, Deansgrange Library must remain closed to the public on Thursday 7 March 2024 until 5.00pm.
The library will then open for regular staffed service until 8.00pm, and the My Open Library service from 8.00 -10.00pm will operate as usual.
